Practical guides

Find and organise the images on your PC.

Start with what you remember: a scene, some words, or a photo that needs a useful filename. These guides walk through ImageSage’s local search and rename tools.

Search photos by description

Find a photo by its subject or scene, even when you cannot remember the filename.

Search text inside screenshots

Use local OCR to find screenshots, receipts and other images by the words they contain.

Rename photos with local AI

Turn selected photos into editable filename suggestions, then review before applying.

Before you start

Install ImageSage from Microsoft Store, then choose the folders you want to search. Your images stay in those folders while ImageSage prepares a local index. Allow text recognition and visual-search preparation to finish before assessing the results.

You need Windows 10 22H2 (build 19045) or Windows 11 on an x64 PC. Supported image formats are PNG, JPEG and WebP. Indexing, OCR, visual search and Magic Rename run on your device; installing and updating through Microsoft Store requires a connection.
